
The ‘.UK’ ccTLD was introduced in June 2014 as an alternative to the ‘.co.uk’ extension originally introduced to target British businesses. Other UK-themed domains include ‘.org.uk’ and ‘.me.uk’. GoDaddy’s British operations has headquarters in London and since launching in there the company has achieved a position where it now responsible for the sale of 25 per cent of the country’s ‘.UK’ and ‘.Com’ domains.
