5 July 2017

Domain name provider CentralNic PLC (CentralNic) has been recognised with a Megabuyte Award. A public company with offices in the United States and the United Arab Emirates, CentralNic was established in 1995 and has headquarters in London, United Kingdom. Listed on the ‘Alternative Investment Market’ (AIM) – a London Stock Exchange sub-market – CentralNic is a registry platform for the marketing and selling of internet domain names.

CentralNic supports over 60 domain extensions, including many of the new generic Top Level Domains (gTLDs) such as .xyz, .site, .online, .website, .space, and .tech. The company also offers a variety of Top Level Domains (ccTLDs) and a range of Second Level Domains (SLDs). The company operates globally, providing domain names to over 1,500 registrars in 77 countries. CentralNic received its award in “the best-performing company in the Infrastructure Services category”.

This is the first year the Megabuyte Quoted25 Awards have run. Sponsored by Silicon Valley Bank and Canaccord Genuity, they are designed to “provide a unique independent measure of public company performance” and recognise the “best-performing mid-market quoted companies in the UK technology sector”. Awards were announced at an event held at Silicon Valley Bank in London on 26 June 2017. CentralNic was third in a listing of 85 companies.

“We are delighted to be recognised as the best performing company in the Infrastructure Services category,” explained CentralNic’s CEO Ben Crawford. “We have a world-class company driven by the vast demand for subscription-based services like domain names, hosting, and software licensing, especially in emerging markets. It is always nice to have the superiority of our business model and the results of our hard work acknowledged in such a public manner.”
