Web hosting and data centre company OVH Group (OVH) has announced the opening of a new data centre based in the United Kingdom. OVH, which has headquarters in Roubaix, France, was established in 1999. The company’s range of services extends to domain name registration and dedicated server offerings alongside Virtual Private Server (VPS) and cloud options. Its latest centre is located in one of London’s “inner suburbs”OVH has been in the UK since 2007 through a London-based subsidiary but this is its first data centre in the country. The centre will offer 40,000 servers and come on-line at the close of May 2017. The 4,000 square-metre centre is the first of the three OVH plans for the UK and will not offer co-location space. It will be interconnected to OVH’s London Point of Presence (PoP) by a double fibre path. The company already has companies like Lineup Systems, XTM International and startup BulbThings as customers.
