UK-based Datum Datacentres Now Offers Access to Internet to Public Services Network (PSN) Gateway Through Memset Partnership

UK-based Datum Datacentres (Datum) now offers access to the Internet to Public Services Network (PSN) Gateway through its partnership with hosting provider Memset Ltd. (Memset). Datum Datacentres, which has headquarters in Farnborough, Hampshire, United Kingdom, was established in 2012. The carrier and cloud neutral data centre services provider offers “service-enhanced colocation” from a “highly engineered secure data centre” at the ListX Cody Technology Park in Farnborough.

Established in 2002, Memset bills itself as “the high security cloud hosting company”. It is the United Kingdom’s leading supplier of cloud hosting services to SME’s. The company caters to the UK’s Public and Private sectors offering a wealth of products and services including dedicated servers, cloud VPS, OpenStack powered IaaS and Memstore powered cloud storage. Memset’s Internet to PSN Gateway “enables easy to use, flexible and secure data exchange between Internet and PSN-Connected Infrastructure”.

Memset provides “accredited, flexible and secure routing between their PSN and Internet-connected hosting environments and Datum’s data centres”. PSN is a "network of networks" that was established to allow data to be shared across government departments and other bodies in the UK. The network replaced the managed networks separately procured by various organisations in the Education, Health, Central Government and Local Government sectors. Being more efficient, it reduces public spending.

“We are delighted to be able to offer our clients Memset’s unique and highly innovative PSNA-accredited gateway to provide Internet to PSN data transfer,” explained Datum’s Managing Director, Dominic Phillips. “The security and resilience of Datum Farnborough and the nature of the clients who have selected our colocation facility are a good fit for this protected environment. The ability to provide connectivity to the Public Services network adds to the portfolio of connectivity and colocation related services that help to define Datum as a trusted partner to our clients as they transform and grow their IT to support business goals.”
