NaviSite Europe’s Hybrid Cloud Service Chosen to Support ESDAL

27 January 2016

Time Warner Cable Company NaviSite’s European arm, NaviSite Europe, has been chosen to provide hybrid cloud services to support the Electronic Service Delivery for Abnormal Loads (ESDAL) initiative in England. NaviSite, whose global headquarters are in Andover, Massachusetts, United States, has European headquarters in East Molesey, Surrey, United Kingdom. The company offers a wide range of enterprise-class services including managed hosting, managed applications and cloud options.

NaviSite Europe was chosen by Costain - one of the UK's leading engineering solutions providers operating in energy, water and transportation. Costain is providing technology that improves services for road users moving Abnormal Indivisible Loads (AIL) around British roadways. The hybrid cloud hosting provided by NaviSite Europe will support this technology. The platform provides a series of alerts bringing vehicles with loads that might be bigger than standard loads to the attention of authorities and provides drivers with appropriate routes to follow when carrying such loads.

“The national road network is undergoing significant upgrades, and our highways clients look to us to deliver innovative technologies to help them improve the road network across the UK,” explained Highways Technology Director at Costain, Graham Stacey in a statement. “NaviSite was tasked with helping us roll out ESDAL, in an extremely demanding timeline. They were able to expedite the implementation due to the quality of their staff and their technical expertise. The new cloud based platform will enable us to further develop the ESDAL solution and take advantage of new and emerging technologies. As we expand our business we will continue to look to NaviSite to support the development of our services.”
