Cloud backup and disaster recovery company Probax Pty Ltd. (Probax) is extending its international reach. Probax, which has headquarters in Perth, Western Australia, Australia, was established in 2005. With storage nodes in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney, Australia, the company offers managed service providers solutions for cloud backup and backup management software alongside Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service (DR-as-a-S) options (including intelligent storage and monitoring for Veeam, ShadowProtect, and NAS). Probax has teamed up with Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS) provider Mr Backup to launch services in the United Kingdom.

Mr Backup has headquarters in Cape Town, South Africa and operates services internationally. The company’s services protect data against a range of issues including theft, human error, and media failure. In the UK it offers “great value for UK-based MSP’s by reducing technician time and spend by up to 80% by managing their clients’ backups efficiently and professionally”. Probax’s software will be incorporated into Mr Backup’s infrastructure in the United Kingdom and the new platform will be operated from its data centre in Bracknell, United Kingdom.

“We are delighted to offer this service to users via the UK MSP channel with whom we have been working successfully for some time,” explained Nic Thorburn, Mr Backup’s Managing Director. “The response to our pre-launch discussions with MSP’s has been overwhelming and we look forward to providing this very secure and cost-effective Cloud backup platform to the channel, backed by our service excellence.”
